Welcome! If you’ve found this blog, you almost certainly have an interest in shale oil and gas development the law governing it. I do, too! Otherwise, I wouldn’t spend my free time collecting and commenting on legal developments in this ever-changing field. My mission here is simple: to bring developments in shale law across the statutory, regulatory, civil, and even criminal fields to your attention; as a litigation attorney living and working in West Virginia, however, those legal developments naturally will focus on the Appalachian region, generally, and the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, specifically. If you leave each post knowing what happened and why it matters, then I’ll consider myself to have been successful. Happy reading!
